Question:  How do I apply for a permit?

Answer:

To apply for a Harris County Commercial Permit, your plans must first be reviewed and approved for permitting by our Commercial Department.

Civil development is reviewed and approved through the Civil Section.

Buildings are reviewed and approved through the Fire Code Section.

When you have these approvals you may choose one of the following procedures to apply for permitting:

1. Plans submitted after May, 2011, have an application for permit included with the plans and no additional submittals will be necessary for permitting.

2. Plans submitted before May, 2011 should submit as listed below:

• Submit an application for your project at 10555 Northwest Freeway, Suite 100, Houston, TX  77092
• Mail your application to 10555 Northwest Freeway, Suite 100, Houston, Texas 77092

Note:  If you have a project with plan approvals after October 1, 2009, you do not need to submit your plans; your Harris County project number will suffice.
